Broccoli Cheese and Rice Casserole is a cheesy, delightful, Thanksgiving or Christmas side dish with tender broccoli, steamed rice, and creamy American cheese.
Boil broccoli until tender and drain water or use a steamer or pressure cooker to steam the broccoli for 3 minutes until tender. Place in a large mixing bowl once cooked.
Cook rice according to package directions on the stove top or in a pressure cooker or rice steamer. One cup of uncooked long grain white rice will yield 2 cups when cooked. Add to the mixing bowl with the broccoli.
Combine cream of chicken soup and Cheese Whiz in the large mixing bowl with the rice and broccoli and stir until well combined.
Add ground black pepper, garlic salt, and onion powder to the ingredients in the mixing bowl and stir well to combine.
Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray and pour mixture into the dish.
Spread the casserole out evenly in the casserole dish and bake at 350F for 15 minutes or until heated through and bubbling.
Serve hot and enjoy!
NOTE: 2 cups of cooked, shredded chicken can be added to this casserole in step 4 to make it a complete meal.
