A wonderful savory pasta or zoodle sauce with all of the flavors of Italy cooked in your own kitchen.
Pour the crushed tomatoes into a blender and blend for 10 seconds until smooth. Set the blended tomatoes aside.
Brown ground beef in a large skillet and add in the Italian seasoning, black pepper minced onion, and half of the garlic, oregano, thyme, and basil.
Cook the meat, using a spatula to break it up into small pieces as it cooks. Once browned, drain all of the grease off.
Pour the blended tomatoes into the cooked meat and add in the remaining seasonings.
Give the sauce a gentle stir and cook on low heat for 5-10 minutes or until cooked through and gently bubbling.
Spoon the meat sauce over cooked pasta, sautéed zoodles, or baked spaghetti squash and enjoy!
Place cooled and cooked meat sauce into a large mason jar and screw the lid on tightly. Fill to 1 1/4 inch below the rim, leaving room for expansion when freezing (this will keep the jar from busting as the liquid freezes.)
Use painters tape to label the jar with the name of the sauce and the date it was made.
Set out the night before using it to thaw or place in a bowl of warm water. You can also remove the lid and cook it in the microwave for 3-4 minutes until just thawed and then place it in a skillet on the stove, cooking on medium heat and stirring occasionally until heated through.
