Nothing says “Merry Christmas” like a Peppermint Mocha Latte!

I mean,  you just can’t beat a Peppermint Mocha Latte during the Holiday season but this one made in the slow cooker for a large batch or in a single cup for a party of one is ideal for any Holiday party or just for yorself. Just last weekend I had a Christmas Party and ornament exchange at my house with a bunch of girlfriends. I made this Peppermint Mocha Latte because we all love coffee and it was a nice twist on traditional Hot Chocolate. This delicious beverage was a huge hit! Everyone loved it and it was nice to be able to keep it warm in the slow cooker so that we could enjoy a hot cup throughout the night whenever we desired it. I’ve also been enjoying a single cup just for myself every morning this week. I don’t even miss Starbucks since I’m able to make this at home! (Did I really just say that?!)

Another great thing about this is that you can make it with regular coffee, half caf, or decaf. I chose to make mine with decaf since the party was at night and I didn’t want to be wired and up all night long. Making it with decaf also means your kiddos can enjoy it with you too!

Now that I have you sold on this Peppermint Mocha Latte I’ll show you just how easy it is to make this bit of goodness. I’m going to give you the instructions for making this in single cup form here in these step by step photos but if you’re interested in making this in a large batch in the slow cooker for a party or get together, just scroll down and it will be in the recipe card below.

First off, set out your peppermint mocha creamer ( recommend using the sugar free version if you’re counting Weight Watcher points since it’s a much lower points option), coffee, and hot chocolate mix. I use caffinated coffee for my morning cup since I gotta get my eyes awake and decaf just won’t do that for me. Also, make sure to use a medium roast. You don’t want a weak Peppermint Mocha Latte disappointing your morning! You can use any brand of coffee and any level of caffeine (even none!), just make sure it’s medium roast coffee.

Time to brew some coffee. I brewed 20 cups in my Mr. Coffee coffee pot for the large batch version, and my coffee pot is the old fashioned kind that uses coffee grounds so I really couldn’t tell you how many K cups you would need for this if your using one of those fancy, new fangled machines. haha! In case you’re wondering, 20 cups of coffee ended up being 5 pots of coffee in my little Mr. Coffee. Hopefully you have a larger coffee pot and don’t have to brew 5 pots of coffee for this, but even if you do, it’s totally worth it to have this Peppermint Mocha Latte! Since we’re only making a single cup this morning to enjoy, you’ll only need to brew about 1 1/2 cups of coffee. I add 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds to 2 1/2 cups of water.

Now that you’ve got your coffee grounds and water added, let your coffee pot do it’s thing. Something about the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning just makes me happier.

While the coffee brews, add 1 1/2 teaspoons of hot chocolate mix to your coffee cup.

Once you have the hot chocolate mix in your coffee cup, add two tablespoons of the Peppermint Mocha creamer. I’m using the regular creamer because my store was out of the sugar free version but if you’re okay with using sugar free, grab that version for a lower points option.

Now it’s time to add your coffee!

Stir the coffee with a small whisk or an electric milk frother to blend the coffee with the creamer and hot chocolate mix. You don’t want any lumps! There’s just nothing worse than a lumpy cup of coffee.

Now that your Peppermint Mocha Latte is ready to sip, add some whipped cream and crushed peppermint candy (if you’re feeling real fancy) and enjoy!

Peppermint Mocha Latte

A wonderful chocolaty, minty, latte perfect for a morning indulgence or to share with friends.

  • 2 tbsp medium roast coffee grounds
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons powdered hot chocolate mix
  • 2 tablespoons sugar free peppermint mocha coffee creamer


  • 20 tbsp medium roast coffee grounds
  • 20 cups water
  • 20 tbsp powdered hot chocolate mix
  • 3 cups sugar free peppermint mocha coffee creamer



  1. Place coffee ground and water into a standard, traditional style coffee pot and brew.

  2. Place the hot chocolate mix and creamer into a 16oz or larger coffee mug, then pour the brewed coffee in.

  3. Stir with a small whisk or electric milk frother until all ingredients are blended well and no lumps remain. 

  4. Top with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candy or enjoy as is!


  1. Place coffee ground and water into a standard, traditional style coffee pot and brew. 

    If you have a small, 5 cup coffee pot you may need to do this in stages, which would be 4 tablespoons of coffee grounds and 5 cups of water. You will need to make 5 pots of coffee if you're using a small coffee pot like what I have.

  2. While the coffee brews, add the powdered hot chocolate mix to a 5 quart or larger slow cooker. 

  3. Once coffee is brewed, pour the coffee into the slow cooker and whisk it with the hot chocolate mix until well blended and no lumps remain.

  4. Whisk in the coffee creamer and stir well. Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for one hour and then let it stay on the "warm" setting when the cook cycle is up.

Recipe Notes

Recipe comes to 2 Freestyle Smart Points for one, 160z cup of latte. Add additional points for any toppings used. If made in the large batch form, recipe yields 20, 8oz cups.
