KFC Coleslaw Recipe

If you live in the South, chances are you have tried KFC Coleslaw. Their coleslaw happens to be mine and my husband’s favorite.

Since cleaning up my eating, I took my tried and true Southern Coleslaw Recipe and made it Paleo friendly so I can keep enjoying it at our summer BBQ’s!

Don’t worry, if you’re not Paleo, you can still enjoy this delicious side dish too!

For all of my Keto and Low Carb friends out there, this one is for you too! Only 3 net carbs per 1/2 cup serving.

If you’re looking for a recipe that’s mostly tart, this one won’t be for you.

We love our coleslaw with a hint of tartness but more sweet around here!

Making a delicious, Southern style Paleo coleslaw is simple.

There’s no need to complicate things when it comes to coleslaw.

Most of us will be looking for a great coleslaw to add to our summer BBQ’s and cook-outs, and thankfully, this is one of the easiest sides you could make.

I like to start out with 2 1/2 cups of bagged tri-colored coleslaw. Pour that into a large mixing bowl and use a biscuit cutter to chop it into small pieces.

Once the it’s chopped and ready to go, add the Mayonnaise, vinegar, salt, pepper, and agave to sweeten it.

Be sure your mayonnaise is Paleo compliant if that is something you’re concerned about.

If “clean eating” isn’t your thing, any store-bought mayo (not Miracle Whip!) will work.

What to eat with Coleslaw

Down here in the South, we love to serve this fast side item with just about anything.

If you’ve ever wondered what to serve with creamy coleslaw or maybe you’d like to have a fast side dish to pull out of your back pocket for potluck cook-outs, this is a great one.

We always serve our coleslaw with fried fish such as this Southern Catfish recipe, or with a BBQ meal like these BBQ Ranch Chicken Quarters.

Another, probably lesser known meal that pairs wonderfully with coleslaw is tacos.

These Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos taste amazing topped with some Southern Style Coleslaw! We even put coleslaw on our chili dogs and hamburgers! We might be slightly obsessed.

I hope you have enjoyed your time in my kitchen today learning how to make this fast and easy Paleo Southern Coleslaw Recipe!

I couldn’t call myself a Southern food blogger without having at least one coleslaw recipe on my website, and this one is tops in my opinion.

Please leave me a comment below when you try this recipe; I love hearing from you!

Cheers to all of your summer grilling adventures!
