I have always been a refried bean fan, so this recipe for Easy Refried Beans is very near and dear to my heart. You know, the creamy, delicious, refried beans that are served at most all Mexican restaurants?
This recipe for Easy Refried Beans will rival any you’ve had at a restaurant. You’ll be shocked at how easy these Easy Refried Beans are to make too! I can’t claim this recipe is totally from scratch since we won’t be soaking whole beans and then cooking and blending them, but this is the harried, mom version that just wants to get a good meal on the table for her family. This is another dish my two year old eats and loves and that just makes this Momma’s heart so happy!
Without further ado, let’s jump into making these Easy Refried Beans, shall we?
I added 14.5 ounces of traditional style refried beans to a large skillet and then added two heaping tablespoons of Plain Nonfat Greek Yogurt and 1/3 cup of shredded American and Colby cheese blend.
Set your heat to medium heat and begin stirring the refried beans, cheese, and plain, nonfat Greek yogurt together. Stir these Easy Refried Beans until the Greek yogurt and shredded cheese is well combined with the refried beans.
Add in one teaspoon of garlic salt and stir well to combine.
Give the Easy Refried Beans another good stir and continue cooking on low heat until the cheese is completely melted. This should only take about five minutes. And that’s all there is to this recipe for Easy Refried Beans! Can you believe how easy these are? I feel almost embarrassed to call this a recipe but there’s no fault in making something delicious, simple, and easy! Ya’ll know fast and easy is the name of the game around The Speedy Spatula!

Easy Refried Beans
Creamy, cheesy, restaurant style refried beans.
- 14.5 oz Traditional refried beans
- 2 heaping tbsp Plain Nonfat Greek Yogurt
- 1/3 cup shredded American Colby blend cheese
- 1 tsp garlic salt
Place all ingredients in a large skillet and stir, heating on medium heat until all ingredients are well combined and the cheese is completely melted.
Serve hot and enjoy!
