A hand is coming out of the left hand side of the photo and is holding a silver spoon that has been dipped into the mustard sauce and brought up out of the jar. A trickle of the golden mustard sauce is running down the glass jar.

I’ve been making this Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce for quite some time before I realized what I was actually making.

We love a good sweet, tangy, spicy, mustard sauce combo so I mixed this up while back and it just became a hit.

I wasn’t familiar with Carolina Mustard BBQ until some searches online revealed that my recipe was actually just that, a mustard BBQ sauce.

Where I come from, the BBQ sauce is red, tomato based, and sweet. Originally from Oklahoma and now living in Arkansas, we love our sweet BBQ sauce around here!

However, we’ve also always been a fan of a great mustard sauce over smoked pulled pork or chicken.

Serve those smoked sandwiches with this sauce and a heaping serving of my Southern Coleslaw or Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries and you’ve got a recipe for deliciousness.

A silver measuring cup is resting to the left of the jar and remnants of mustard can be seen left inside the measuring cup.

This Easy Carolina Mustard Barbecue Sauce Recipe is made in only minutes!

Grab a clear, glass canning jar that will hold at least 8 ounces.

Add in amber agave, spicy brown mustard, regular mustard, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

I use agave for the sweetener but you could also use honey, granulated white sugar, or brown sugar.
