Clean Baked Meatballs

In an effort to eat healthier, I have been trying to limit our pasta intake. My husband and I love our Italian food and as we all know, Italian food can tend to be a massive carb overload. I was craving spaghetti but didn’t want all of the carby noodles that I knew would make me feel gross and blah after eating them. I began to think of ways to healthify a favorite dish of ours and decided to make jumbo meatballs, top it with my Easy Slow Cooker Marinara and throw in some oven roasted veggies on the side for good measure.

This meal was absolutely delicious and has quickly become a favorite of ours. You could always add whole wheat noodles if you really want them or even some delicious Zoodles would suit this dish perfectly!

Clean Baked Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and stir until well mixed.

    2. Spray a large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and roll meatballs into 10 large rounds and place onto the baking sheet.

    3. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes or until cooked through. 

    4. Top with marinara sauce and enjoy! 

Recipe Notes

Lean ground beef can be replaced for lean ground turkey, ground venison, or ground bison.
